Small hole in the wall that serves up proper peameal bacon sandwiches...and really....all kinds of bacon sandwiches. The place is real small as they only really have a countertop and some school desks out front. The smell of bacon hits the air, and it fills the small room rather quickly.
They have a list of bacon sandwiches, but I went for the Hogtown Sandwich ($7.50), with their special Brown mustard sauce. It was 2-3 thicker slices of peameal bacon, of which I added an egg and cheese for $1 extra each. The bacon slices were cooked very well and were nicely tender. Really gotta work the teeth to tear the peameal apart. The runny egg and cheese made it that much better. The brown mustard sauce was OK, but I was growing tired of it and they really drown the sandwich in it, so I eventually removed the top bun and ate the remainder of my sandwich like a peameal bacon taco (new menu idea guys!) The potato wedges are good but super thick and can make the meal a bit too heavy.
The place is a shrine to bacon as you will find bacon facts, bacon posters, and even a portrait of Sir Kevin Bacon on the wall as well. They take their bacon seriously and you don't come here and not devour as much of the porky goodness as possible.
Not a place for vegetarians or practicing Jews.
