My friend Michael asked me to go to Kentucky to watch the Florida Gators (my Alma Mater - Go Gators!) take on Kentucky in Lexington, I wanted in. Being that we love our food and our football, we thought we'd stop by Cincinnati to catch a Bengals game AND eat the city's gems.

When I knew for sure that I was going to go to Cincinnati, I took to research to discover the best place to get Cincinnati Chili. Though I've read much about Skyline and Gold Star, I saw Camp Washington Chili on Man V Food. Though its not always the most reliable, just watching him dig into that Spaghetti topped with massive amounts of shredded cheddar and chili, had my mouth watering. Book it.

The place itself looks like a retro diner with the clientele being the most representative of Midwest America. The menu is simple, yet has quite a few variations of dishes that all center around their famous chili. Coneys, spaghettis, sandwiches, or even just a cup of chili.

I ordered a chili coney and a 3 way, which is cheese and chili on my spaghetti. The coney dog was embarrassingly small and I couldn't find the hot dog until I bit into it. When it first came, I honestly thought they just served me a hot dog bun with chili. It was cheap, but not worth getting again.

The 3 way was a lot better. Everybody loves three-ways so I figured this ought to be good too. I love the idea of chili and cheese on spaghetti so I knew I had to get it. It tasted good. I wish the chili was a bit thicker, but I don't have any other Cincinnati chili spots to compare it to. The cheese was great at first, but it really wears on you because there is just so much of it.

The prices are dirt cheap so it doesn't hurt the pocketbook at all. Place is kinda cool, but the food was not as good as I had hoped. Not bad considering the meal in total was less than $10, but I thought it was just OK. I'd love to try other spots and see how they compare.
