This Eli's BBQ location is a small little BBQ takeout spot that is an extension of the original in SE Cincinnati. The joint is rather small and is located right by the Findlay Market! In addition to its convenience, it is a takeout only spot that has some counter space and a large picnic table in the front. The food is still the same from the other Eli's location, but here for locals on this end to enjoy.
I will start by saying that the side dishes were disappointing, but the ribs were wonderful. Truthfully, that's all that matters in my mind. We ordered 4 ribs, mac and cheese with pork cracklings, and japaleno grits. The ribs were done very well and had a nice sweet undertone with their dry rub as well. The meat comes right off the bone (as good BBQ should do) and the meat was tender and juicy.
The sides weren't good as the mac and cheese with the pork cracklings tasted more like stale pasta with Velveeta cheese. The pork cracklings were just small shredded pork that was overly salty and tasted off. The grits were OK, but nothing to write home about.
You come for the ribs and possibly the other meats. The price is pretty decent as you can 4 ribs for $10. I will say though, that the ribs were a bit on the small end, but at least they taste good. Definitely a must try if you're already by Findlay anyways. Guys who work there are pretty funny and cool as well.
