Bareburger is a dine-in burger joint right by the Eaton Centre. The place is rather large and has a pretty modern cabin kind of feel. The chain can be found all across Northeast America (and spreading), so its nice to see it make its way to Canada. Their bread and butter is organic butters made in house and crafted just the way you want it to be.
They do have an interesting menu which includes organic game meats like elk, bison, wild boar, duck, and turkey. Add-ons like bacon, duck bacon, and brisket make things even more interesting.
I ordered a duck burger and wanted to add duck bacon to it, but there was none at the time I went (disappointed as I was looking forward to it, but oh well). My friends all built their own concoctions and we had a basket of fries/onion rings to share. The fries come with 4 different dipping sauces, which sounded great. The duck burger was good. The meat was a bit dry, but at least tasted like duck. The patty was pretty small though and the bread to filling ratio was not as good as hoped.
The onion rings and fries were good too. The onion rings were actually pretty incredible, while the fries were standard. The onion rings had a great crunch and batter to it. The batter was seasoned well and unlike so many onion rings out there, they don't fall apart out of the batter.
Though the burger was decent enough, I didn't find it to be the as good as most reviews indicate. Plus, the prices are a bit much for what you get. Everything is organic though so if it matters, you should definitely give it a go. Otherwise, I think there are better burgers out there for less.
