Biff's Bistro is another O&B restaurant in the form of a French Bistro. Located right next to O&B Grill near Front St. and Yonge. The menu offers classic French bistro dishes like Steak Frites, Duck Confit, mussels frites, etc. The place is rather nice inside with some eclectic decor, but it suits it very nicely. The restaurant looks like a bit more of the older crowd with some business guys scattered here and there. The divide has the dining area to the left with the bar to the right. Still a pretty casual place for a French bistro.

We started with the Frog's Legs as an app. There were 2 pairs of frog legs and was presented nicely. The batter is very light and crisp and looks like like you were eating tempura chicken. The sauce is a very light oil base with herbs. The frog legs were cooked nicely, but the taste was a bit different than other frog legs i've had. It definitely had a fishier taste than usual.

We were also given an amuse bouche as part of the American Express Fine Dining Program. The amuse bouche was a small appetizer of chicken liver pate on a crisp wafer. the pate was very smooth and had a much more milder taste than it appears.

Both the wife and I ordered their Steak Frites. She had the 8oz Flat Iron, and I got the 7oz Tenderloin. The flat iron is a nice cut of steak that is pretty underrated. Texture is firmer and the taste is still strong and beefy. The tenderloin is a much more tender smoother cut. The beef slides off the knife and passes through like butter. The steak at Biff's was done wonderfully. The fries were so damn salty though. Salty enough to make my lips hurt so didn't manage to eat them all. And I do love me some fries.

The wait was long on this particular night. My wife asked for medium-medium well, but her steak was pretty much blood rare (my favorite), so we asked to have it cooked a bit longer.

Place is real nice and the lighting is dim enough to set a romantic mood for any date night. We went on a Thurs night and they had $2 oysters (not sure if that's something they do every day). Service felt a bit rushed which I found odd because, though there were lots of patrons on this particular day, there was quite a number of servers as well. Regardless, our server was good enough. Might come back for Steak Frites, but not very impressed with much else.
