Chimac is one of the newer Korean Fried Chicken restaurants to open up in Toronto. The place is much smaller than I thought, but can sit quite a crowd. It still looks rather new and they've got some expensive ass curved TVs scattered about the place as well. Of course, the obligatory Korean music videos were playing on said TVs as well.

We wanted to try a bunch of their sauces and didn't want to shell out money for multiple half chickens so we ordered the original fried chicken and got some sauces on the sides.

We got a whole Fried Chicken Bone-In, which looked to be enough for the three of us. The platter is visually intimidating and a sight for hungry eyes. The plate is HUGE and the fried chicken pieces are stacked similar to a tower. The batter is seasoned with a good amount of salt and is very crunchy, though it is much thicker than one would like. The chicken meat inside is steaming hot and very juicy. Great pieces of chicken throughout, though you can prepare your sodium intake levels.

The sauces were hit and miss. We got the Yangneom, which was their classic Korean sweet and spicy sauce. It definitely was more sweet than spicy and runs thick. The Pa Dak was an interesting one because Green Onion with some wasabi made for a surprise. I liked the hint of the wasabi and it was unique but still good. The Jack Daniels chili oil wasn't good. It didn't have any of the Jack Daniels flavor, nor did it have any spice of chili oil. Honestly tasted like watered down teriyaki sauce.

Service is usually a bit questionable at these Korean bars, but they were nice enough. Food comes out rather fast and portion size isn't a big issue. The prices are rather high for most things. Even the chicken is pricier than you would expect. It is entirely halal, which is nice. It's located on a busy street, so parking might be tricky but there are some free parking areas along the street behind the place and along the side. Not many KFC spots in the area, so this could become a welcome addition.
