I have tried so many Korean Fried Chicken places in Toronto and GTA proper. Many of them were similar and had sort of the same type of fried chicken with minor variations from each other. This place does it completely different.
I came with my friend and after scanning the menu, noted it would be best to just load up on chicken. There are combos you can get that are perfect for a single person, but for pure chicken bliss, we ordered 7 pieces for $20 (can also get 5 pieces for $15).
The Korean Fried Chicken here comes piping hot so be forewarned. The giant pieces of chicken are coated in a crisp batter that is doused in their "sweet chili" sauce (they can also do naked if you so choose). The batter is very crisp and a bit thicker than the other KFC joints I've been to. This batter houses a steaming juicy chicken underneath. The seasonings are pronounced throughout and I found it to be a bit salty at times, and heavenly at others. The chicken pieces are HUGE and were enough to feed two hungry guys (though we ordered a bit more because we're extra).
The fries are different too. They are coated in their special seasoning that had a spice that was reminiscent of a seasoning salt I used on seafood way back in the day. Regardless, they come hot as well and come with the chicken.
The fried chicken comes rather quickly but can also be attributed to the fact that it was quiet that night. Service is friendly as well. The place is small so large groups need to be cautious on a busier night. I find the location a bit odd as there isn't much else around the area in way of ethnicity, but I'm hoping this place bucks the trend. Definitely worth repeat visits, especially if you love Korean Fried Chicken.
